POEM 3 : GOVINDA THE DELIGHTFUL BLUE BOY OF VRINDAVAN

I worship Govinda the delightful blue boy of Vrindavan who is always kind and gracious to his devotees and is always playing his leela with radha ji for the sake of them.
Sham Sunder; please help me to attain your beautiful vigraha. Maya has put a sheath in my heart which does not allow my inner eyes to see you within my self. I have come to your holy lotus feet and pray to you to give me the vision so that I can see you in your Banke Bihari posture of Vrindavan.

I worship the Adi Purusha, who is the darling of Nand and Yashoda, in fact the whole of Vrindavan; who resides in the heart of Radha as well as the damsels or gopis of Vrindavan.

I worship Gopal, the cowherd boy who loves his cows so much that he walks barefoot just because his cows too walk barefooted. He wears a tilak of the dust of the feet of the cows, and is thus called Govinda (Go+Vind).

I worship Radhavallabha who is so fond of his consort Radha ji who is always with him And cannot stay without him for a single minute. She is always with him in the nikunj leela, and is a fountain of pleasure for him

I bow before your divine vigreha and worship you devotedly. You are also known as Gopivallabha who is the soul and heart of the gopis’ inner conscious, whom they are always remembering while doing their household chores, and whom they cannot forget even for a second.

I worship my dear Kunj Bihari who is always engrossed in keli leela in the grooves of Nidhivan raja and is always a source of pleasure to the sakhi’s and sahchar’s of nikunj leela. I also bow before Swami Shri Haridas Ji.

Oh Kunj Bihari you have appeared from the Kunj’s of Nidhivan by Swami Shri Haridas ji, that is why you have been given this vibrating name by your sahhachari’s. You are a darling baby of Swami Haridas who is incarnation of Lalita sakhi.
At his request you agreed to stay in your vigraha and today we are so fortunate to have your darshan.

Swami Haridasji's Keli Leela in Bhaav Smadhi 1-40 padaas

Nikunj is a place in Vrindavan which is surrounded by vrinda or tulsi shrubs. In these grooves of creepers the divine jori or couple loves to spend their pastime. This place exists in Nidhivan from where Shri Banke Bihari appeared by hearing the sangeet of Swami Shri Haridasji some 500 hundred years ago. Some of his leelas which Swami Shri Haridasji experienced in the nikunj in his Samadhi state are being explained below. All effort has been made to explain according to what he actually saw or experienced but incase something has been added by my own bhava, I ask forgiveness from Him. KELI LEELA 1. ‘Mai ri sahaj jori pragat bhai’ …… When Bihari ji appeared on Bihari Panchmi day in the month of December, there was a music recital where great classical singers had gathered to sing for Bihari ji. Swami Haridasji sang such enchanting padaas that Bihari ji was forced to make an appearance. Both Radha ji and Bihari ji appeared and were smiling at the devotees. At once Swami ji uttered ‘Mai (

IMPORTANT GHATS OF VRINDAVAN

Keshighat—The ghat where krishna had killed, the demon keshi who was sent by the king of Mathura kanms, the maternal uncle of krishna who eager to kill krishna. Sri cheer ghat--- This was the place where the gopi’s were bathing during the month of kartik to please katianidevi. While they were bathing, krishna stole their clothes. He wanted them to know that they should not bath naked in the river,as it is against the principles of our shastra’s. Sri bhramar ghat---On this ghat there are many branches of flowers due to which one finds a lot of bumble bees here and it is named bhramar ghat. Dhir sameer ghat--- Calm winds blow in this ghat.It seems the yamuna river wants to serve the divine couple, hence the wind blowing on this ghat is very soothing as well as full of lovely scent.Jaidev in his famous poetry geet govind has described this enchanting ghat where Radha Krishna have performed their kel pastimes. It is believed that Jaidev could visualise Radha govind engrossed in their keli
